Four steps from your first question to your follow-up, so you can make a considered decision.
A conversation first
Your confidential consultation
You meet Dr Saqib Anwer in private to talk through what you hope to change, any concerns, and your medical background. There is time to ask about the procedure and what it would mean for you. With your consent he examines you and measures erect length and girth.
The consultation assesses both suitability and expectations. Not everyone is a suitable candidate: an active infection, poor healing, significant foreskin problems or expectations that filler cannot meet may mean treatment is delayed or declined. Where appropriate, alternatives or a further specialist opinion are discussed. Choosing no treatment is always an option, and a consultation does not commit you to anything.
A list of any medication, and details of any previous penile filler or surgery: product name, volume and dates, if you have them.
Clarity before commitment
Your personal plan
If treatment is appropriate, Dr Anwer sets out a plan: the proposed filler and volume (10, 15 or 20 ml), whether it is given in one session or staged, the expected recovery, and the total cost in writing.
He also explains the limitations, the possible complications, and the option of not proceeding. Filler increases girth; it does not lengthen the erect penis or treat erectile dysfunction, and no particular increase in size can be promised.

On the day
Your treatment appointment
Your medical history and consent are reviewed again, and the plan and comfort measures are explained before anything starts.
- The area is cleaned and numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes, followed by local anesthetic.
- Hyaluronic acid filler is placed beneath the skin of the shaft by cannula, deep to the Dartos fascia, so the volume sits evenly. The procedure itself takes under 30 minutes.
- Dr Anwer checks the distribution of the filler and explains what to expect over the next few days.
It is an outpatient procedure; you are not sedated and can walk or drive home. Allow 2 to 3 hours on treatment day. The penis is thicker straight away, although early swelling contributes to the first appearance. See the procedure video.
Beyond the appointment
Aftercare and review
Before you leave you receive written aftercare instructions covering hygiene, support, activity restrictions and any prescribed medication, and your review appointment is agreed.
- Desk work is usually fine the same or the following day if you are comfortable.
- Avoid strenuous activity, running, heavy lifting and the gym for at least one week.
- No sexual intercourse for 14 days, and not while there is swelling, pain or an open injection site.
- Only mould or massage the area if Dr Anwer has shown you how.
The review is the time to discuss healing, assess the settled result and raise any concerns. Much of the swelling usually settles within one to two weeks. Further filler, if you want it, can be considered after two weeks and always needs a fresh assessment.
Get urgent help if you notice
- severe or increasing pain
- skin turning pale, dusky, blue or cold
- rapidly worsening swelling, fever, spreading redness or discharge
- difficulty passing urine, or a foreskin trapped behind the head of the penis
