Fat Transfer Penis Enlargement
Your own fat, moved from the abdomen to the penis. Two operations in one hospital visit, and results that are hard to predict.
Fat transfer penis enlargement surgery involves two surgical procedures completed during the same hospital visit.
In the first procedure, fat is liposuctioned from the abdomen or thighs. The fat is then filtered so that fat cells are isolated and other material is discarded. Next, the fat is injected around the penile shaft using bespoke injection techniques to ensure fat survival. As the fat cells come from the patient's own body, there is no risk of an allergic reaction.
The layer between the skin and the penile shaft is thin and does not have a rich blood supply. As a result, fat grafting to the penis has traditionally proven unreliable, with the main side effect being lumpiness caused by fat necrosis.
Androfill Canada does not perform fat transfer. Our Edmonton clinic offers hyaluronic acid penis filler, which is non-surgical, reversible and gives a firmer, more predictable result. This page explains fat transfer so you can compare the two honestly. See the side-by-side comparison.
Fat harvesting and filtration
It is critical that the fat transferred to the penis is pure and that the fat cells remain intact. Advanced clinics use a closed-circuit filtration system (for example LipiVage) that runs from the donor site, typically the stomach, flanks and lower back, to the recipient site, the penis.
The closed circuit improves the rate of fat survival and reduces the risk of infection, because the fat is not exposed to the air during removal and transfer. It also reduces the inflammatory reaction and fat necrosis, leading to higher fat graft survival and a less lumpy result.

What to expect
How much does fat transfer to the penis cost?
Androfill Canada does not offer fat transfer. Where Androfill clinics have offered it elsewhere, the surgical fee was several times the cost of a 10 ml filler treatment, with removal of hard fat nodules in the first two years included. Because of the additional time required by advanced filtration, the initial price is above average for the procedure; the intention is fewer repeat transfers over a lifetime, although several may still be needed.
For comparison, hyaluronic acid filler in Edmonton is offered in 10 to 20 ml packages; contact the clinic for current pricing.
How much better are results with advanced filtration than at traditional clinics?
Significantly better filtration and injection techniques allow the highest rate of fat survival possible. A higher survival rate means fewer top-up procedures in future, potentially as few as five or six fat transfer surgeries over a lifetime.
How will the penis feel after fat is injected into it?
After the first injection you will notice a significant increase in girth, as most of the fat cells are still intact. The initial size is enhanced somewhat by swelling, usually mild. The final result depends on how much transferred fat survives, the amount and distribution of fat necrosis (cells that do not survive), and the extent of fibrosis and scarring, which is usually minimal.
Fat is usually described as having a fat-like or slightly softer feel, with a marshmallow-like consistency, generally the same texture as fat in the stomach. The texture improves somewhat in the erect state, as the fat is compressed a little between the penile tissue and the skin.
Necrotic fat cells can clump together to form hard nodules in the penis. This is usually addressed by steroid injections (triamcinolone, Kenalog 10) at the clinic over a number of months to try to break up the lumps.
Is fat transfer permanent?
No. A small proportion of the fat may survive for years, but most is reabsorbed within 3 to 12 months. Claims of permanent results are misleading; surviving fat tends to be uneven and repeat surgery is usually needed to maintain size and smooth irregularities.
